About
In May 2010 the Mountain Lakes Home & School Association held two technology forums that focused on safety measures parents should be aware of as well as the benefits of the internet on our children. It was determined at these discussions that many of the resources we examined should be highlighted on a permanent blog for all to see. In addition, it made sense that we continue to update the blog weekly with new information that can help our parents and students.
The blog posts focus on six issues: digital citizenry, digital natives, mobile phones, parental controls, social networks, and Web 2.0 tools. In addition, the blogs are also categorized by tags (or topics) such as Facebook, apps, and cyberbullying. Currently, the author of the blog posts is Frank Sanchez, the MLHS Social Studies and Media Center Supervisor. However, if parents and other educators would like to create posts, please send Mr. Sanchez an email. Of course, comments and responses to all posts are welcome and greatly encouraged!
